Stained and distressed wood
The wood’s versatility as a material extends well into the coloration, too. A custom stain allows you to match the wood countertop with the flooring or some other existing surfaces or can
produce the looks of a high-end wood type on a less expensive, affordable species. A certain dark stain properly applied on face-grain red oak will make the wood appear as wenge.; with
just a hint of brownish, the black locust will look like teak.
Some species stain exceptionally well in the sense that the stain does not rob the wood of its natural look; with other species, the color will appear more visibly artificial and yet others are notoriously difficult to stain. Likewise, those species suitable for staining work the best with a certain range of colors. Therefore, when it comes to staining, we always prepare samples first for our customers and offer advise on how to achieve the desired looks.
